Discussion: Inclusion of Nagorno Karabakh Refugees in the Armenian Labor Market

On April 27, a discussion titled "Inclusion of Nagorno Karabakh Residents in the Armenian Labor Market" was organized by the Regional Center for Democracy and Security.

 

Nvard Sargsyan, Head of the Employment Programs Coordination Division at the Department of Employment Security and Labor Potential Development of the Unified Social Service, presented the employment support program for forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as the newly launched self-employment support program.

 

Susanna Azatyan, Head of the Division for Development and Implementation of General and Extracurricular Programs at the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports (MoESCS), spoke about the inclusion of personnel from Nagorno-Karabakh in the field of general education and programs providing additional motivation for teachers across various regions.

 

Astine Badeyan, Manager of the AGBU's Learn to Earn Armenia Program (LEAP), presented the training initiatives implemented by the Benevolent Union, which, notably, had originally launched in Nagorno-Karabakh back in 2019.

 

The discussion was moderated by RCDS expert Hayk Khanumyan. The event was attended by representatives of various non-governmental organizations, international structures, and the government, as well as individuals representing different circles from Nagorno-Karabakh.

 

Following the inputs by the keynote speakers, the meeting continued in a Q&A format.
