On April 4, the Regional Center for Democracy and Security organized the first workshop on electoral processes, civic participation, and countering disinformation in Yerevan as part of the project “Enhancing Democratic Inclusion for Nagorno-Karabakh Refugees.” The workshop’s target group was young leaders from Nagorno-Karabakh.

RCDS expert Tatev Ghazaryan presented an overview of electoral systems, with a particular focus on recent amendments to Armenia’s electoral legislation. Ani Grigoryan, head of the fact-checking team at CivilNet, spoke about strategies for combating disinformation and effective media engagement. Arsen Kharatyan, founder of Aliq Media, discussed the evolution of civic movements in Armenia since independence and highlighted key mechanisms for civic participation.

The workshop brought together young people from Nagorno-Karabakh currently residing in Yerevan and across various regions of Armenia.

The project is implemented with the financial support of the European Union and the German Marshall Fund of the United States - Transatlantic Foundation (GMF TF). Its contents are the sole responsibility of the Regional Center for Democracy and Security and do not necessarily reflect the views of the European Union and or the GMF TF.
